With these simple and effective cleaning solutions, you can completely remove both the odour and the stain!
If your pet urinates on your carpet or upholstery there will be both a stain and odour problem to resolve.
Pet urine can have a bleaching effect if not treated immediately. Using the Rug Doctor machine and Pet Formula as quickly as possible will help to avoid this.
Although pet cleanups are never pleasant, they are manageable with Rug Doctor. Our simple but effective cleaning solutions will have your carpets looking brand new.
Easily Treat Pet Stains with Rug Doctor
Apply enough Rug Doctor Urine Eliminator to penetrate deep into the carpets. The active enzymes remove the chemical source of the stain. These enzymes need moisture to work, so place a damp colour-fast cloth or towel over the treated area. Make sure it stays damp for up to 24 hours if possible. If cleaning with a RugDoctor machine, use our Pet Formula Carpet Detergent to remove stubborn and dried-in pet stains.
Generally, the stain and odour will be removed after a single treatment. Heavily contaminated areas may require a second application. It is important to be thorough in cleaning cat urine spots. This is because the dissolved crystals may release the strong scent of feline pheromones.
Partial cleaning can actually make the odour seem worse as the stain may wick up from the backing and re-crystallise on the carpet fibre tips. Look for urine stains on adjacent walls or furniture and be sure to clean these areas as well. A UV light in a darkened room will reveal any urine spots.
